I know - tell me about it!

I made a bit of a weekend of it though;

I took my colleagues out for a drink on the Friday lunchtime at the bar around the corner where we drew our office sweepstake and watched the World Cup opening ceremony. Then I had the rest of the afternoon off to watch the first match!

Saturday was spent getting things ready for a football and pizza party at my house for the England v USA match - great party, rubbish match!

Sunday was a family fun day at my parents house including a giant Connect 4 tournament in the garden (which I won - but I'm not sure whether they let me, or not!) - and I think it was the first time for ages that every member of my immediate family was in the same place at the same time (my parents, sister, uncles, aunties, cousins and their significant others - not forgetting my other half, her son and his girlfriend!)

Monday (my birthday!) we were going to go for a day trip to the Isle Of Wight but we were knackered so just ended up having a lie-in before meeting up with my parents for a delicious lunch at a restaurant in Lancing at the foot of the South Downs. Then we went into Worthing for ice cream on the pier!

We had Tuesday off work as well and decided to go to Brighton Marina to see if we could catch a boat trip along the coast. We got there an hour before the next one sailed so had a drink in the sun on the waterfront before setting out to sea - it was really good (you get such a different perspective looking back at the coastline - so I ended up taking lots of photos on my phone!)

All in all a great weekend - and the weather was lovely...

Sounds like a cracker weekend. You did well to string all those events together without any hiccups. :fab:
