This Monday 13th April, The Hopetoun Hotel is hosting a Book Launch by Craig Schuftan "Hey Nietzsche! Leave Those Kids Alone". Sarah Blasko, as well as the Devoted Few will be performing at the event, so pop down if you are in the area.

I'd like to congratulate Sarah on her nomination for a Green Room Award for her Bell Shakespeare's Hamlet music. That's quite an achievement to say it was her first ever foray in to theatre writing. For more info visit www.greenroom.org.au.

Sarah also plans to attend the Sydney Writer's Festival in May to contribute to a session or two. If you'd like to attend, she's there for the 23rd/24th May and information for this is at www.swf.org.au.

According to an article in this months JMag, Sarah is hoping to have the album released some time in June/July. Sarah also hints at what she would like to call the album.

Sarah has arrived back home now after finishing recording the new album. We eagerly await word from Sarah of her chosen title for the third album!

Some more exciting news from Sarah. She has now finished recording and mixing the new album after spending a month in Stockholm. She's flown to London on her way home to help with ideas for the album art work, with the designer Sharon Chai who worked on Sarah's previous album covers.

Sarah has hinted at some possible song titles for the upcoming album: Down On Love, Hold On My Heart, What I Want, Over & Over, We Won't Run, Night & Day, Bird On A Wire, No Turning Back, Is My Baby Yours?, Some Of Us, Not Enough, Lost & Defeated. These are subject to change, but along with Sarah's listing of instruments used so far, give us an insight into how the new album might sound. Check out her blog for more details!

According to the update from Sarah, it sounds like she's cracking on with the album. Already she's narrowed down the tracks to a list of 14. Lets hope they all make the cut! Sarah will also be working in Atlantis Studio later in the week, where ABBA have worked in the past. Although you can't leave comments on Sarah's blog, feel free to join the discussions on our forum

Today Sarah starts work on recording her third album, after flying in to Stockholm only yesterday. We hope the recording goes well for her and look forward to hearing some of the new material.

Sarah has announced that she is to record her third album in two Swedish based studios. Sarah wrote "The album will be produced by Bjorn Yttling. He's the Bjorn part of the band Peter, Bjorn & John and he's worked with lots of great people including Lykke Li, Anna Ternheim, Camera Obscura & Taken By Trees.". She leaves for Stockholm on the 24th Jan, working through until March and hopes to have the album finished mid year!

It's just been brought to my attention that Sarah is doing a little Euro tour at the moment. She's playing mainly in Germany, but also France and Belgium too. I don't know if we have any fans nearby, but head along for some no doubt exclusive renditions of songs from the new album. The details are in the Diary section.

Sorry guys for being a little late with this, but TripleJ recently ran a show about The Overture And The Underscore, as part of their 'The Album Series'. The documentary is the best I've ever heard and offers untold insight into Sarah's first album and is full of surprises. It's well worth checking out on the TripleJ Website. In a recent interview for ABC News, Sarah has been discussing news of her new album. As expected, it is due for release during 2009 and Sarah describes it as "pop with an old fashioned feel, and blues and soul influence". Read the full article here

According to a recent interview, it seems that Sarah's third album should not be too far away. She is apparently applying the finishing touches to it.

Triple J are doing a retrospective showcase of Sarah's debut album, The Overture and The Underscore. The program is scheduled for broadcast on Zan's morning program on JJJ at 10am on Tuesday, 18th November. It's part of thier Oz Music Month Album Series and will be available afterward on a podcast. Sarah's performance in the Bell Shakespeare Company's production of Hamlet seems to be getting rave reviews. According to people who have seen the performance, Sarah is visable on stage for the performance, and I believe even plays the role of a travelling actor in the play.

In an article in the Sunday Telegraph yesterday, Sarah is interviewed breifly about her work with composing the music for the production of Hamlet at the Sydney Opera House. Sarah reveals that she's hoping to start recording her third album in October.

Sarah has been added to the line up for the Blue Mountains Festival of Folk being held in Katoomba. According to the website www.bmff.org.au, Sarah is to play on the Saturday.
